Kildare company supplied parts to Israeli weapons maker this month

In the past two months a Kildare company sent three shipments of components to the largest supplier of weapons to the Israel Defense Forces.

The Ditch reported last week that Powell Electronics shipped parts to Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems in October and November 2024.

However new records obtained in the past few days show the Clane-based firm sent components to Elbit Systems as recently as two weeks ago.

On 11 March this year Powell Electronics sent goods described on shipping records as “connectors” to the Elbit Systems Cyclone plant in Karmiel. The manufacturing facility makes parts for the F-35 and F-16 fighter jets.

Two more shipments of “electrical connectors” were sent to the same Elbit Systems plant on 28 March and 15 April.

Powell Electronics – whose shipments to Israel have attracted local media attention – is an authorised distributor of “military connectors” with headquarters in the US.

Elbit Systems supplies up to 85 percent of the IDF’s land-based military equipment and drones. It signed a $275 million deal with the Israeli government in January this year to supply bombs to the IDF.

Powell Electronics have been contacted for comment.
